How long does a lower back injury completely heal?

Bill asked:

I suffered a lower back contusion and my doctor said no broken bones. I still have a bump from swelling on my lower back and it's been already a month since the injury. The bump is not painful just annoying being there.

Reply:

There is no correct answer because of the unpredictable nature of back injuries. You may feel fine now, and be laid up a month from now. You must be young to spring back as fast as you have. I would say to take it easy because that bump is a trauma that has not healed, even if you feell better. Check with your doctor if the bump there much longer. In fact, you should ask him or her about the bump. Don't be tough, keep an eye on it.

Back Injury...?

Anthony asked:

I have an back injury ever since November of last year..I have a lawyer and everything...How much do you think I well get back on my settlement..???

Reply:

You have a lawyer.

You will be paying your lawyer a very large chunk of any settlement you get. Easily 33% plus expenses.

Therefore, ask him.

Thats what you pay him for. Stop wasting our time.

Will disclosing a lower back injury with my last employer on a application hurt my chances on getting a job?

David asked:

I had a lower back injury about 12 years ago and was retrained to do the job I am doing now. I have been doing my new job for 10 years now and have had no back problems other than normal back pain. I am thinking about applying for a new job but wonder if I should put down my back injury as the reason for leaving my other job?

Reply:

If you are physically capable of performing the essential job functions of the position you are applying for then no, keep mum about any other injuries or medical conditions.

Even if the application DOES ask, don't answer. Such a question is illegal.
